KSPAML has commercialized the GI GULBARGA TUR DAL and other pulse-based products under the Brand Name “BHIMA PULSES” so as to ensure better realizations to Karnataka’s pulse-growing farmers. Bhima Pulses GI Tur dal was launched by the Honorable Minister of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka, in August 2023. It is selling Bhima Pulses GI Gulbarga Tur Dal through online and offline channels. Product quality, including complying with or exceeding FSSAI standards, is ensured during procurement from authorized users, and quality analysis is undertaken by the University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur. Considering its higher nutrient contents, unpolished Tur Dal is being offered by Bhima Pulses. KSPAML is also setting up its own state-of-the-art high-capacity mill in Kalaburagi to process all pulses that are produced in the region. Traceability solutions are also being put in place to provide assurance to customers regarding the source authenticity of the product. It is also planned to launch ready-to-heat products and frozen products of Tur Dal in the coming months. KSPAML would implement various ATL, BTL and TTL promotional activities. It is initially planned to focus on urban areas and district headquarters of Southern and Central Karnataka with an emphasis on cities/towns such as Bengaluru, Mysore, Mangalore, Shimoga, Hubli-Dharwad. Bhima Pulses GI Gulbarga Tur Dal is packed in good quality laminated pouches which contain all necessary information as mandated under the applicable regulations.
